Snowflakes for Seniors

Our Student Lighthouse Team organized a project to raise money and blankets for Snowflakes for Seniors, a non profit organization that helps fulfill wishes for seniors in Greenwood county at Christmastime.  Each morning, representatives of the Lighthouse Team sold snowflakes that students could decorate and display on the wall outside our cafeteria for $1 each.  They also collected blankets that were donated for these senior citizens.  Our wonderful community of students and parents helped us raise a total of $407 and over 30 blankets to bless the elderly this holiday season.

Claudia Hulon shared that she has been hosting Snowflakes for Seniors for 10 years.  Each year she increases the number of seniors she would love to help by 100.  This year she almost met her goal of 1,000 seniors with a total of 962 seniors being sponsored.  She shared that volunteers are needed to make this a successful event.  Her goal is to have enough volunteers to branch out into neighboring counties.  If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information, please contact Claudia Hulon at (864)344-2732 or (864)323-1725.  More information may be found at https://sffseniors.weebly.com/ or on Facebook @snowflakesforseniors.
