Author and Greenwood native, Joy Corley, visited Hodges last Friday to share her book, Percy Goes Camping...Maybe. During her visit, she shared information about Percy, read her book, discussed the process of writing and answered questions from students and teachers. Our school quickly fell in love with her book and her beloved dog, Percy. If you missed your opportunity to purchase a book, you can order one by scanning the QR code found on the link provided.

Some of our 3rd-5th grade students have been participating in a weekly Run Club. As a
culminating activity, we will be participating in this fun event. Please make plans to join this
fun holiday opportunity with your family! You can run or walk among the holiday lights at
Connie Maxwell while listening to festive music. All proceeds from this event will go to
Connie Maxwell Children’s Ministry and The Greenwood Cancer Fund.

If you child missed out on our fall picture day, they will have a retake session on December 5th. More information is provided in the link.

The fifth and second grade Honeybees are participating in a service project with NC Moms to Moms. Our goal is to provide new school supplies, backpacks (new or clean/gently used), and books (new or gently used), and a handwritten note of encouragement to students in Yancey County, NC, whose families were hit extremely hard.
